Where Marseille Ends and the Sea Begins
The path to the sea – Espigas Moment Marseille

The sun is already beating down on the winding road that leads to Les Goudes. The sea sparkles in the distance, and the scent of wild fennel and salt clings to the air. Down below, boats gently sway in the small port, while children run barefoot among the rocks still warm from the day before. Here, time slows down.

A Timeless Moment
Les Goudes has a unique atmosphere, where locals and visitors share the same love for the Mediterranean. A group of friends sets up their cooler on the rocks, while a fisherman, leaning on his boat, chats about the world with his neighbor. Nearby, children explore the coves, searching for little crabs hidden under the seaweed.

A Picnic with Southern Flavors
Spread out on a cloth between two rocks are the essentials of a Marseille-style lunch: still-warm panisses, Nyons olives, a chilled bottle of rosé, and a few lemons from the garden. For dessert, sweet anise-flavored “navettes” add a fragrant and gentle finish.

The Marseillaise Look by Espigas
Between sand and rocks, it’s best to have the right footwear. A pair of espadrilles with durable canvas lets you go anywhere without burning your feet. Over the shoulder, a linen tote bag holds sunglasses, sunscreen, and a good book to enjoy to the sound of cicadas.

A Moment to Share
At the end of the day, the sky turns into a palette of gold and pink. The air softens, the water calms. One last dip, a burst of laughter, and it’s time to fold the cloth. A promise lingers in the air: we’ll be back.
