The French brand Espigas, driven by Slow Fashion.
For us, it’s not just a trend, but a daily challenge – one that goes far beyond a media phenomenon – focusing on "slow fashion."
Our fight is reflected in:
Fighting compulsive buying / promoting thoughtful consumption: Only buying shoes that we commit to wearing for at least one full season! Prices that respect the people who made these espadrilles, in good working conditions.
Focusing on timeless basics: Espadrilles made from high-quality materials, promoting a simple wardrobe that is durable, ethical, and desirable.
Promoting responsible production: Working, when possible, with recycled fabrics, items that have been worn and are of quality because they’ve stood the test of time. Espigas also commits to innovating its business model: preorders, made-to-order items, and allowing customers to vote on their favorite products, which will then be produced.
Rethinking production and consumption methods: Espigas talks about the circular economy and deposit systems, offering customers the chance to return their old espadrilles in-store (in exchange for a store credit).
Pushing boundaries / Becoming even more responsible: Considering human and environmental factors. Espigas embraces solidarity by supporting NGO projects… Espigas also prefers locally sourced materials like linen or hemp.
Reconnecting with the joy of shopping in-store: Espigas has a store in the South and regularly organizes events to meet and communicate with customers because they deserve to be known, and their needs and desires should be considered. Since online shopping depersonalizes our way of consuming, and the joy of a shopping spree with friends is disappearing, Espigas aims to reduce carbon footprints by limiting delivery truck returns and reducing the massive production of online data. Espigas celebrates in-store shopping!
By committing to more than just selling shoes and integrating its customers' values, Espigas manages to stand out… inspiring the desire to support them!
