OUR 3 COFFEE ADDRESSES TO DISCOVER, EVEN DURING LOCKDOWN.
Although there are no more terraces to enjoy a noisette or a bar counter to lean on for an espresso, and many of the great roasteries only deliver via mail, there are still some cafés where you can order takeout. Rush over there in your Espigas to get a good boost. Here are our 3 favorites:
Corto, the Marseille-based roastery created by Margaux Sachy, herself the granddaughter of a roaster, who has a kiosk at Perrier and stands, notably at the Marché des Réformés. Their coffees are 100% organic, with incredible and varied aromatic notes to keep things interesting.
Deep, where the roasting happens on-site, in the heart of this coffee shop at the Old Port. It smells great, it's calm, arty, and run by a DJ. It has a New York-style vibe, and you’ll often hear English spoken. The perfect spot for tourists or Marseillais looking for a change of scenery.
Mana, an award-winning Aix-en-Provence roastery that leaves its mark both in its kitchen and in others'. The beans from this great Aix address travel just like our espadrilles. You can enjoy them in a small cup or a large latte with a cake, everywhere where coffee is paired with delicious recipes, notably at Placette.
